Share your remote development experience with us and be the first to try a new JetBrains product – a tool for managing and running remote development environments for IntelliJ-based IDEs.
We are researching the demand for remote development tools and the needs of prospective users so we can deliver the best possible solutions.
We want to hear your feedback about our concept for remote development. Your input will help guide us as we build an orchestration tool.
We invite you to participate in a 45-minute interview and share your company’s current approach to remote development or your plans for it. After the interview, you will have the opportunity to test a proof-of-concept version of our development orchestration tool.
Please fill out the preliminary survey, and we'll get in touch with you soon to schedule the interview.
Remote Development by JetBrains provides teams with access to more powerful computing resources regardless of the hardware they use.
In our remote development setup, an IDE is installed as a backend service on a remote VM or container (orchestrated and run by the tool we are developing), where it loads a project without displaying a user interface. A thin client runs locally and connects to this IDE backend and provides a fully functional user interface as if the IDE were running locally, even though all the processing is done on the remote server.

Our main goal is to help you overcome the limits of local machines or slow laptops, making it possible for you and your teammates to work more efficiently, save time, and contribute more to projects.
Storing source code on developers’ laptops is a potential security nightmare, should those devices be stolen or misplaced.
Tap into the computing resources of a remote machine and go full throttle on the largest datasets and codebases.
Reproduce development environments with exact predetermined toolsets, runtime requirements, and hardware specifications
