How to apply for the JetBrains Foundation Scholarship

Choose the round of admission that suits you best. Note that you can take the Entrance test just once. In case you registered before April 28, but would like to sit the Entrance test on June 14, please contact us.

We encourage you to apply earlier rather than later to get your admission decision as soon as possible.

First round

  1. Apply before 11:59 pm UTC April 28, 2026.
  2. Pass the entrance test on May 3, 2026.
  3. The applicants with the best entrance test scores will be invited to participate in an interview taking place between May 4 and June 1, 2026.
  4. Receive a decision by June 1, 2026

Second round

  1. Apply before 11:59 pm UTC 11:59 pm UTC June 9, 2026.
  2. Pass the entrance test on June 14, 2026.
  3. The applicants with the best entrance test scores will be invited to participate in an interview taking place between May 4 and June 30, 2026.
  4. Receive a decision by July 1, 2026
Full Scholarship from JetBrains Foundation

JetBrains Foundation Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, medical Insurance, visa fee (if applicable).

It also offers spending money: approximately 300 euros per month.

Financing options

Self-funded

Tuition fee is €6,000 per academic year (two semesters).

Accommodation fees vary from €2,000 to €6,000 per year depending on the type chosen. The plans include a single or shared room, and a single or shared bathroom.

Take an evaluation test

To assess your chances

All applicants are automatically considered for the scholarship, which is awarded based on a selection process. If you’re not selected as a scholarship recipient, you can still be offered a spot on a self-funded basis.

Prepare the documents, needed for application, in advance:

  1. ID/Passport copy
  2. One Reference Letter
  3. Personal Statement (max.500 words)
  4. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  5. Secondary School Leaving Certificate and Transcript*
  6. English Language Certificate**

*If by the time you're applying you don't have your Secondary School Leaving Certificate, please prepare a document with your predicted grades to proceed. You can provide the Secondary School Leaving Certificate later. Note that if your performance in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate will drastically differ from your predicted grades certificate, the admission decision can be changed.

** If you can’t receive an English Proficiency Certificate in your place of residence, please contact us so we can provide a code that you can use to take the Password test for free. You can also provide the results of your English Proficiency test after the Entrance test. Please be aware that some certificates requires specific confirmation from the issuer which can take up to 1 month.

Step 2

The entrance test will consist of 10 math problems and 6 informatics problems, and you will have 4 hours without a break to complete them.

If you applied before the deadline you will receive a separate email two days before the test with instructions about the proctoring system (please check that everything is in order before the test begins or contact us). You can take the test only once.

Participate in an interview

Step 3

The applicants with the best entrance test scores will be invited to participate in an interview taking place between May 4 and June 30, 2026.

The interview is a 40-minute conversation with the program’s organizers and teachers. We will discuss your motivation and previous experience, and we’ll ask you to solve a few problems in the fields of mathematics and programming. The questions and tasks given will be based on your reported experience and entrance test performance.

Receive a decision about the scholarship

Step 4

Scholarship decisions will be made by July 1, 2026. If you receive one of the scholarships, JetBrains Foundation will provide a grant that covers the tuition and accommodation fees, as well as a monthly stipend of €300.

In case you didn't get the scholarship, you can still be offered a spot at the program with ordinary financial options.

Collect documents for a visa (if necessary)

Step 5

You’ll need to provide an assortment of documents the Cypriot authorities to obtain the visa, including your Medical Certificate, payment confirmation, and additional documents.

Please note that the preparatory test is not the same as the entrance test. Its purpose is to give you an idea of your potential performance on the actual entrance test. Even if you excelled on the preparatory test, you are still required to take the official entrance test.
