Terms and Conditions for Participation in the Algorithm and Code Training School (ACTS) Online Camp 2026

Version 1.2, effective as of August 13, 2025

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (referred to as the "Terms") form an agreement between you, the participant ("Participant", "you"), and the organizers, Constructor University, Neapolis University Pafos and JetBrains s.r.o. (collectively referred to as "Organizers"), for participation in the Algorithm and Code Training School (ACTS) Online Camp ("Event"). The Event is designed for school students aiming to excel in competitive programming.

Participation is open to school students who are at least 13 years old and under 20 years of age as of the Event start date who demonstrate proficiency in competitive programming, particularly in Codeforces Division 2. The registration and participation at the Event are open to residents of all countries with the exception of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, Syria, or non-government controlled oblasts of Ukraine.

By registering for the Event, you agree to these Terms.

Organizers

  • JetBrains s.r.o.

JetBrains s.r.o. is a private limited company incorporated and existing under the laws of the Czech Republic, with its registered office at Na Hřebenech II 1718/8, 140 00 Prague, Czech Republic, Company ID No.: 265 02 275, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipality Court in Prague, Section C, File 86211.

  • Constructor University

Constructor University is a private, state-recognized university located in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Germany. Founded in 2001 with the support of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, the University of Bremen, and Rice University in Houston, Texas, it operates as a gGmbH (limited liability company whose profits are utilized for non-commercial purposes).

  • Neapolis University Pafos

Neapolis University Pafos, an academic institution duly registered and operating in the Republic of Cyprus as a private university with license registration number 7.15.15.1.4., having its registered address at 2 Danais Avenue, 8042, Paphos, Cyprus.

2. Registration and Participation

Registration Details: During the registration process, you will be asked to provide the following information:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Codeforces Handle
  • Graduation Year
  • Date of Birth
  • School Name and City
  • Achievements at competitions/olympiads in Informatics

Participants also have the option to subscribe to newsletters from Constructor University and

JetBrains Academy, and to affirm their age and, if applicable, parental consent for participation.

Event Format: The Event will consist of daily lectures, contests and Q&A sessions led by experts from JetBrains, Neapolis University Pafos and Constructor University.

Communication: All communication with participants will be conducted via email and the Discord platform.

3. Selection Process

The selection process involves two stages:

  • Entrance Contest: Applicants will be required to participate in an entrance contest (Youth Challenge Coder Track) to assess their programming skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Personal Profile Evaluation: In addition to the entrance contest, applicants will be evaluated based on their personal profiles, including academic achievements.

Upon successful selection for the Event, Participants will be notified via email. Organizers, i.e., the academic committee, reserve the right to select Participants based on their overall profile scoring (including, but not limited to, performance in the entrance contest and personal profiles), and the decision will be final.

4. Cheating and Misconduct Policy

Participants are expected to compete with integrity and respect towards fellow competitors, Organizers, and experts.

Any form of cheating, plagiarism, using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, or dishonest conduct — whether during the entrance contest, in-camp activities, or on associated platforms (including but not limited to Codeforces) — is strictly prohibited. Organizers reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including but not limited to:

  • Disqualification from contests or activities
  • Immediate revocation of the camp invitation
  • Permanent ban from future Algorithm and Code Training School Events

5. Personal Data

Collection and Use: The personal data collected during registration will be used solely for the purposes of organizing the Event, communicating important information, and, if consent is given, sending newsletters and updates related to Constructor University and JetBrains Academy.

Consent Management: By submitting the registration form, participants acknowledge that their personal data will be processed in accordance with the purposes explained above. Participants can manage their consent preferences by contacting the Organizers directly or, where available, using an unsubscribe link in each email. Upon request, Participants will be unsubscribed from future communications.

Privacy Policy: The processing of personal data will adhere to the Organizers' privacy policies, ensuring the protection of participants' information.

6. Rewards

All participants will receive certificates of participation. Certificates of achievement may be awarded to a limited number of participants following a comprehensive and reasonable evaluation process, based on criteria and rules established exclusively by the Organizers.

7. Export Control

Any Participant must comply with all applicable laws and regulations with regard to economic sanctions, export controls, import regulations, restrictive measures, and trade embargoes (all herein referred to as “Sanctions”), including those of the European Union and the United States. Participants declare and warrant that they are not a person targeted by Sanctions, nor they are otherwise owned or controlled by or acting on behalf of any entity or person targeted by Sanctions. Participants agree that they will not download or otherwise export or re-export any related technical data directly or indirectly to any person targeted by Sanctions or download or otherwise use any data for any end use prohibited or restricted by Sanctions.

The Organizers shall not provide, directly or indirectly, any products, services, or funds to any person or entity that is subject to any sanctions or trade restrictions. The Organizers will immediately reject or exclude any participants ordinarily incident (such as located or residing) in the territories subject to export control or sanctions restrictions. The territories subject to export control or sanctions restrictions include North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Syria, Russian Federation, Belarus, Crimea region of Ukraine, territories of the so-called entities of Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republic or other annexed territories of Ukraine - such as Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Participants are required to cooperate with the Organizers in their efforts to ensure compliance with Export Control laws.

8. Changes and Cancellations

The Organizers reserve the right to modify the Event's format, schedule, or rules, or cancel the Event, at any time without prior notice. Participants will be informed of any significant changes through their provided contact email.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, with disputes subject to resolution in the applicable courts of Prague.

10. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for the Event, participants acknowledge they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
